A student walks through the Technology building on the campus of Kankakee Community College in Kankakee, Illinois. I had the challenge of photographing a college campus in early Spring before the leaves and greenery have had a chance to appear. I tried every possible angle from outside of the buildings while trying not to show bare trees or brown grass. And then one evening, as I dediced to take a short cut through a building rather than walk around the outside to the bike trail behind campus, I saw the best angle I had seen all week. The evening sunlight was shining perfectly through the large windows on the Technology Building. The light on the architecture looked really interesting, but I needed a person in the photo for scale. Luckily, Kankakee Community College offers lots of night classes, so I didn't have to wait very long for several people to walk past. I shot this frame just as the light was starting to fade. This was shot for Images of Kankakee River Valley.
